REVIEW: Bad Intentions by Charleigh Rose

“I think you’re my new favorite hobby.”

Back of the book blurb:

Moving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start.
Away from chaos.
Away from bad influences and worse relationships.
All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had.
It should’ve been simple.
I didn’t count on my transgressions following me.
And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare.
Tall, tortured, and tattooed.
A Lost Boy through and through.
Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache.
But I was a sucker for punishment.
I had a routine.
Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances.
I kept my circle small and my guard high.
I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart.
Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control.
She was fire and I was ice.
I should’ve stayed away.
But I had been cold for far too long.

My rating:

I really loved Bad Habit, so I was super excited when Bad Intentions was announced for release. Charleigh Rose’s writing is raw, raunchy, and romantic. (We stan alliteration!) I was very generously given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Bad Intentions will keep you up late into the night because we all know that good boys go to heaven, but bad boys bring heaven to you.

“Relax. I don’t bite. Unless you ask me to.”

Bad Intentions hits the ground running. Lo and her little brother finally escape the hellhole that is Oakland and their junkie mother to River’s Edge where their father is currently living after walking out on them years ago. Of course, Lo has to support her and her brother so she goes looking for a job as soon as they get settled in. When she walks into a tattoo shop named Bad Intentions, she is greeted by a gruff and rude Dare, who isn’t expecting Lo whatsoever.

Ugh, THIS BOOK. I just… I absolutely love the downtrodden but still badass girl who doesn’t take shit from anyone, especially a man. Lo is incredible and even though life has dealt her a shitty hand, she still doesn’t let that stop her from supporting her brother or trying to make a better life for them. Her heart is so big and it is beautiful.

“How do you fix someone when they won’t tell you what’s broken?”

DARE. I’M CRYING. He is the epitome of a bad boy—dark, brooding, and with a sharp tongue (that’s good for more than just biting your head off). His character arc is something magic, I swear. I just love how he starts off by telling himself that he needs to stay away from Lo; however, he just… can’t. He just cares about her and he can’t help it. The way Lo and Dare care about each other is… just… #relationshipgoals.

ALSO, god… the sex! The heat! The chemistry! Lo and Dare were made for each other and shew!!! You will absolutely feel the heat between these two. The chemistry between them is almost tangible.

“They’re born from darkness. But they bloom anyway—rising above the mud, still remaining beautiful and pure. That is you.”

Bad Intentions is an angst-y, romantic roller coaster of a novel. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry. But most importantly, it will make you believe in true love again, regardless of whether you’re going through a bad breakup, or maybe you’re in love right now. Bad Intentions will just show you that some people are meant to be together. And that is such a beautiful thing.

Bad Intentions is OUT NOW! Please pick this one up.

Happy Reading!
