REVIEW: Yard Sale by Charleigh Rose

“Love doesn’t wait until you have your shit together.”

Back of the book blurb:

I was freshly fired from my job and betrayed by my boyfriend.
It was a new low for me.
A one-night stand with an arrogant stranger was just what I needed.
I didn’t know that he was a famous snowboarder, or that he’d give me the best sex of my life.
I wasn’t ever supposed to see him again.
Fate had other plans.
I was young and rich with the whole world at my fingertips.
I was in my prime.
A one-night stand with a hot little tourist on the rebound was the perfect way to spend my weekend.
I didn’t know she’d leave in the middle of the night, or that I’d wake up wanting more.
I never thought I’d see her again.
Now she’s back.
She’s been keeping a secret.
One that will change everything.

My rating:

Charleigh became an auto-buy author when I first read Bad Habit when it was released. I absolutely adore her writing style—it has a give-no-fucks attitude and it’s sexy as all hell. Yard Sale is a quick and sexy novella that takes place in the Bad Love world with an extended epilogue that includes your favorite couples from Bad Intentions and Bad Habit. It also includes an exclusive excerpt from Charleigh’s upcoming novel Rewrite the Stars, which I am so excited for!

Yard Sale will keep you up late into the night and by the end of it, you will be so completely satisfied in more ways than one.

“Who is this chick and why do I need her to want me?”

If you’re new to Charleigh’s books, then you must know that she writes badass, beautiful women and sexy, tattooed, and broody men. Her characters are always swoon-worthy and their love is even more beautiful.

Yard Sale is a novella, so everything happens really quickly; however, with the way that Charleigh writes and how much chemistry her characters always have, it was completely believable. Yard Sale reinforces the romantic notion that when you know, you know. Some people are just meant to be together.

“Silence always turns into fears and overthinking for me.”

Yard Sale isn’t without a little bit of angst, though, which we all have come to crave. Mollie is harboring a huge secret from Cam and it will literally change everything. Mollie and Cam are so great together, though, it seems like no matter what would happen, they would end up together.

These characters are so wonderful and of course, we get to revisit all of our favorites from Bad Habit and Bad Intentions and GOD, I JUST LOVE THESE CHARACTERS SO MUCH.

Much like this review, Yard Sale is a quick read. But because it’s filled with Charleigh’s signature wit and raunchy love, you will close the book with a satisfying sigh, completely satiated.

“I love you, Mollie Mabey,” he says against my mouth.
“I am majorly, totally, butt-crazy in love with you, Camden Hess.”

Last, but not least, we get a preview of Rewrite the Stars at the very end of the novella and let me just say—or, rather, scream—THAT I AM SO EXCITED. I’m already in love with the characters and the story just from the tiny excerpt. UGH, CHARLEIGH, YOU KILL ME.

Happy Reading!
